I just returned from Pecha Kucha Night in Stockholm. Should you not be familiar with Pecha Kucha, very simply put it is an event, held in almost 180 cities around the world, where anybody can present their work, with the only rule being 20 seconds per slide, 20 slides.
(And if you are not familiar with Pecha Kucha, go to their website, find your city or the nearest city hosting Pecha Kucha nights, and go to the next one! Seriously. Go!)
There was some excellent work presented by some extremely talented artists. And in the next few days I will share these artists’ work and ideas with you! 
Let us begin with Creator’s Inn!
Creator’s Inn is a little project by Pecha Kucha Gothenburg organiser, Jesper Larsson.
Living in his tiny little gothenburg flat, he would always do his utmost to accommodate his guests visiting from out of town, by offering them a place to stay. He then thought of making this more to the point. With the help of Elvine, a clothing brand and client of Jesper’s agency, Next Century Modern, Jesper transformed his little flat into a more hotel-like room. But since it is about hospitality any visitor with a creative purpose in Gothenburg may stay in the Creator’s Inn for a undefined short period of time free of charge!
During this time Jesper will stay at his girlfriend’s place. And he promised that he personally turns into the maid attends to the room the next day.
And no stay in a hotel room would be complete without stealing those little shower gel and shampoo bottles right?
Jesper calls the motivation behind this little project CSR – Creative Social Responsibility in a little tongue-in-cheek spin on the vacuous buzzword from corporate entrepreneuring “Corporate Social Responsibility”.
By offering visiting creators free accommodation, we hope to remind people of a lovely little thing called hospitality. And in addition to making the visiting creators happy and Gothenburg a more interesting city because of their presence, we hope this simple idea can be exported and implemented around the globe. What a wonderful world that would result in.
So in true Pecha Kucha fashion I am calling our reader’s around the world who like this idea and would like to realise a Creator’s Inn in their home town to go for it! Get in touch with Jesper and open up a haven for visitors.
